My lovely friend Mikel, based in the beautiful Basque Country, chose a little seahorse for his cover. Et voilá, here you can see it swimming and floating around…
Alexander wanted a board bag for his girlfriend. All very secret. Santa Claus is coming sooooooonnnnn…!
These covers I made for two brothers: Steven and Andy. Both wanted green. Colour of hope. Good Karma.
Mathias was asking for a 6´6 red board cover with some 70´s flowers on the nose- here we go!!! And when get a bit closer you´ll find that a slight japanese touch in the upper part...
Last month we drove all the way up to Ericeira/Portugal to be part of the Skeleton Sea Project for a week making board covers and wooden surfboards.
Sun, massive waves and galao were part of the trip. Some rain as well, heavy rain…!!!
These are the results of a week working at the Skeleton Sea Gallery:
and a mini handplane made by five years old Jaku…
This board bag is full of a fresh breeze, indian summer leaves, the smell of damp soil, cackling geese and a splash of cornish sea water.
This cover is simply classic: White stripes on blue canvas. I can hear the chanty choir singing somewhere. Ahoy!
Antoine made his way from Brussels to Cornwall to glass a surfboard and pick up his cream- green boardbag… He went back to Belgium with a smile on his face and ordered another cover.
The summer is not really over yet, although you can already feel a fresh breeze in the air, especially in the evenings…the days are getting shorter, people coming back from their summer holidays- taned, relaxed, having felt the warmth of the sun in their bodies. So do I feel. After three wonderful and inspiring weeks in Scotland I´m feeling full of good energy, ready to start some nice SALTY BUDS BOARDBAGS.
The first one I started with was for my friend Adam from Native Oak. He said: “You can chose the colours, find something that fit to me…”. I bought the fabrics, sewed all pieces together and- he really liked the result!Happy days!
The second boardbag I wanted to make for myself. Here it is:
Posh red velvet with an old beige flower curtain for nose and tail.
I made this retro looking boardbag for Gog from Hamburg.
He wanted something masculine, so I experimented a bit with this yellow, playful fabric and combined it with a plain- coloured, water- repellent brown and I was lucky: He loves it!
All these lovely peeps attended the Arbo Surfboards workshop a couple of days ago. A big hug goes to photographer Jesus!!!
Beate, David, Thomas and Jesus took part in the Arbo Surfboard workshop last weekend in Cologne and I was the one who provided them with their custom made boardbags:
